Jobber is a capable all-in-one tool, but its own pages say it bills in US dollars and limits some payment and texting features to the US, Canada and the UK. If that is why you are looking around, here is what changes with four alternatives that bill in rand, plus a short checklist for making the move.
If your crew runs on Jobber, you know what it does well: one platform "from first quote to final payment", with mobile apps and a client hub. For a South African business, though, Jobber's own pricing page deserves a closer read. We checked four alternatives on their websites on 1 October 2026.
What Jobber's own pages say
What it does well: drag-and-drop dispatch, job forms and photos in the field, GPS tracking, visit reminders, and a 14-day trial with no card.
What to check from South Africa:
- All prices are in US dollars, excluding sales tax where applicable.
- Online card payments, tips and two-way texting are offered only in the US, Canada and UK.
- Automatic payments are US and Canada only, and bank payments US only.
- The homepage, pricing and dispatch pages don't mention South Africa or rand.
Checked on Jobber's pricing page on 1 October 2026.
Before you switch
- List the Jobber features your crew uses weekly, and flag any on the list above.
- Check your billing term, because 1-year and annual plans run to the end of the term.
- Decide whether you need scheduling only, or quoting, invoicing and payments too.
- Trial the new tool on real jobs first.
Four Jobber alternatives for SA crews
Listed in no particular order, apart from our own product first.
Action Plan
Action Plan is our product. If you're leaving Jobber because every extra user costs $29 a month in US dollars, Action Plan bills in rand through PayFast and only charges for field agents, so office users cost nothing. R150 a month covers up to two agents. Agent profiles record skills and availability, jobs go to an agent or a team, and agents send back status updates and before and after photos. What you give up: the site doesn't state quoting, invoicing, online payments or mobile apps.
Good fit if: you mainly need the right people on each job and photo proof back, and can keep invoicing in another tool.
Tradify
To drop dollar billing but keep quoting, invoicing and card payments in one app, Tradify is the closest swap. Its South African page shows rand prices per user, from R480 a month. Invoices sync to Xero or QuickBooks, card payments run through Stripe, and you can import price lists. Field staff get store apps on Apple and Android phones, and there's no contract. The ZA site lists a North American phone number.
Good fit if: you want a like-for-like swap and don't mind paying per user.
WorkOrderPro
If you'd rather buy from a vendor focused on South African service companies, WorkOrderPro charges R999 a month plus R349 per active user on Starter, excluding VAT, and every enabled account counts, office staff included. It covers scheduling, GPS, invoicing and a customer portal, with iPhone and Android apps listed, though the site asks you to confirm your devices. Setup help is included and migration can be discussed up front.
Good fit if: you want an SA-focused all-in-one and can budget for every account.
Omni Field
If you want to test a replacement without paying, Omni Field has a free plan for the owner and one technician. Paid plans start at R149 a month with one technician, VAT included, and a 30-day trial. It covers dispatch, GPS, invoicing and payments. The field app is a web app your crew saves to the home screen. Its South African support works SAST hours.
Good fit if: you want to try a rand-priced all-in-one for free first.
Two more worth a look
ServiceM8 prices its South African plans in rand by jobs per month, with a single-user free tier capped at 30 jobs, and now lists full-featured iOS and Android apps. Exequtech, from Pretoria North, offers offline-first Android job cards, with no iOS app yet. Both feature in our scheduling apps guide.

Making the move
If you mostly need the schedule and proof of work, run Action Plan alongside Jobber for a week of real jobs. If you rely on Jobber's quoting, invoicing and online payments, Tradify, WorkOrderPro or Omni Field will be closer replacements.
Try Action Plan free for 14 days with two agents and no card, compare the rand bands on our pricing page, see how assignments work in the documentation, or send us your questions.
